On X-Training...
How long have you been X-Training?
3 years (properly)
Why do you find X-Training so exciting?
It tests everything about yourself- not just physically but mentally. You have to be an all-rounder and capable in all disciplines.
Being a jack of all trades isn't good enough - you have to be a master.
Do you teach X-Training to your clients?
Yes to some. I feel that it's a tough exhilarating workout for them.
What are their views on X-Training?
They love it! I am so proud that 2 of them have entered the Hampshire 2006 Xmas Fire Cracker.
Who has been your biggest influence in X-Training?
There are so many...Paul Cooper in my earlier days was a huge influence. He's taught me how to formulate my race strategy and to improve my mental toughness. I have to mention my Luton buddies: Mark Drury, Simon Bellinger & Dave Coard - all awesome athletes. Am grateful to Steve Watts, Cassius Frankson & Will Whitmore for their good advice. Lastly Gary Nicholls - if I am half as good as him at his age, then I will be over the moon!
How often do you train?
Normally 5 times a week.
What is your favourite exercise?
Strangely running...you can't beat going outside on a lovely sunny day or getting those tights on for a cold winter's run.
Am also a dab hand at spinning!
What is your favourite food for training?
Before training - a smoothie
After training - a stir fry
What is your ambition in X-Training?
I have made the Top 10, now I want to become as successful as I can - to win an event.
I'd also like to introduce more people into x-training with the experience I have gained.
What exercise secret would you give a newcomer to X-Training?
Don't underestimate x-training...give it full respect - give it the training it deserves. Don't expect too much too soon...persevere because if you really want it, you will get there.

| On Sport... |
Did you excel at sport at school and if yes, what sport?
Football, rugby, badminton & athletics.

Do you compete in any other sport?
I'm lucky in that I can turn my hand at most sports. I will do anything as long as it doesn't involve snow...not a winter sports person at all (although my girlfriend is trying hard to change that!)
Have you competed in any other sport in the past?
County Badminton player in my Uni days.
Former Semi-pro footballer for many years
How often do you rest?
I'm a busy personal trainer so am always on the go! I do try to have 2 rest days out of 7 from training as it's just as important to rest as it is to train.
