Experience in Gym X Training
I have been taking part in events for around 5 years. There have been many changes over the growth period resulting in the new course for FitBrit, which has combined a shift in training methodology in the gyms with the functional aspect having more of an impact with its design.
Describe your journey so far in the Fitness Industry?
After 10 years working in the club industry I decided to change career and do something I love! That's when I took a job being a receptionist at Fitness First! Because of showing dedication and love to the industry. I really enjoyed meeting and greeting members and relish the day to day challenge of being responsible for so many aspects of the gym floor.
For the last past 3 years now I have been delivering, classes and helping others with their fitness goals and gaining valuable experience to when I eventually qualified as a personal trainer. My long term goal was was to become a Heath & Fitnessmanager but that is now on hold because of personal reasons it's time to move on and do my own thing!
What equipment do you use to get fit?
I have been following Crossfit workouts for the past 5 years , I think I am experienced enough as a trainer to conduct my own training, and so don't feel the need to belong to a CrossFit Box, although I respect those that do and can understand why. I bought equipment such as bumper plates, Olympic Bar, sledges, tyres, atlas stones and farmers walk weights . And my favorite a airdyne and Concept 2 erg skier.
How have you increased your knowledge in training ?
This year it's all about learning and working along side with the best coaches in the world. I attended 3 important seminars and obtain as much knowledge from the masters!

I now follow Gym Jones policy and philosophy.
What do you remember about last years final ?
Last year I was very disappointed with the lack of judging on the final. Technique and form were shocking with some competitors but they got away with countless reps, while other competitors got penalised for the slightest thing and there was no consistency across the judging. Its unfortunate and it does need to be addressed. But it was a great day out and I really enjoyed it - great result for me and AJ deserved to win.
