Farouk is one of the friendliest and respectable X Trainers on the scene right now. For his weight and frame he has phenomenal power and strength and is always at as many X Training events as humanly possible. It would be fair to say - Farouk trains hard, competes hard and is a shining example of persistence to X Training over the years.

Why do you find X-Training so exciting?
It provides competitive goals while I train in the gym.

What are your views on X-Training?
It would seem to be the ideal sport for the gym generation. Still not clear why it hasn't achieved widespread appeal.

Try to do a bit every day

Press ups

Anything as long as it's got some animal in it (couldn't do that vege-vegan thing like Steve O)

To win something

What exercise secret would you give a newcomer to X-Training?
With my record I'm not sure that I'm the best person to ask; still searching for the Holy Grail myself.

No, I was crap.

Do you compete in any other sport?

Not any more.

Dabbled with kickboxing & boxing.

Don't have a regular pattern of rest.

Do you suffer many injuries?
Thankfully no. Very susceptible to throat infections though.

Do you think the obesity problem in schools and the US can be controlled?
With sufficient political & social will, yes. Society has to accept / be convinced that it is a problem. People have to respect themselves & their bodies. Lifestyles & society have to change.

What's the one golden rule in weight management?
Adopt a continuous, progressive exercise regime.

Yes, but only out of interest
