All Time Top Ten Gym Athletes

What are you doing now in terms of training?

Im training and plan to compete in Crossfit. My numbers and stats in some areas are very good but I badly lack in others. Crossfit is so good because there are so many areas to improve in, not just exercises to improve in. Its all encompassing. Its hard to say which is harder, xtraining or crossfit, because each one is a lactic hell but I feel crossfit is more of a challenge for me and thats important.

Has this improved your level of fitness?

My fitness had improved and I now think im fitter and more complete in fitness terms than before. Maybe not cardio-vascular direct but in CV in terms or recovery and lactic dispersal maybe better. Im stronger, have more power and better technique in most exercises. I suffer with much less injuries and my knees have never felt so good!! Xtraining is very good for learning how to push yourself, lactate threshold and CV, crossfit hits all that plus every other area of fitness you sould think of. Technique and skills being massively important and well judged.

Many have taken up triathlon or Cross FIT - do you miss the one on oneracing that made Gym XTC unique?

I dont miss the one on one really. I miss the competitors and the banter but mostly the competition. I liked the calso/octathalon method of competing, lots of little explosive races or many competing on the same course at once. Thats my opinion and just what I liked. Crossfit competitions work in a similar way.

If you were in my shoes and you had the finance, what would you have done differently.

If I were in your shoes, I wouldnt have done what you did. If I had the finance I would have opened up a venue for everyone to use in xtraining comps and now crossfit.

Do you think a gym really cares about your titles that may have won?

No, my gym wouldnt care. The prisoners liked it though.

Why do you think the industry refuses to embrace Gym X Training?

Gyms exist to make money. The competitive atmosphere and charged testosterone makes the athlete. The athlete is bred from the people within it.

Performance related results in gym fitness are more common place now - the trends are indicating a turn towards performance rather then image - wouldyou agree?

Performance always pushes a better image, rather than just training for the sake of it.
