Race Line Up Focus

What can be said of next week's event in Hampshire is that anybody who takes part, in any category has the respect and admiration from WGC.com. This event is not easy and if the gym you represent is not taking any notice of you WGC.com is and it says well done to you - you are the Inspiration of any gym and are to be congratulated with your focus to train and enter this event.

In no particular order a light hearted look into some of the races that will take place next week in Hampshire, between members of this site. Good luck to everybody.

Lloyd Millichap
vrs
Russell Stenning
Lloyd has had an incredible year. His timings have improved on the WGC.com so far that he is now Advanced Status. Still new to the sport (this is his anniversary event) He intends to spend one more year at Intermediate then maybe progress to Open.

Russell has been chipping away at X Training for quite a few years. Training out of Calso Gym Bromley, Russell goes from strength to strength in each event he does.

Both competitors have very good cardio - this will be a great race and the finish very close.

Sam Orgee
vrs
Jason King

Sam has won the Grand Pix this year with consistent performing throughout. He is currently the man to beat. Sam always performs with a quiet confidence and has incredible strength and speed.

This will be the final race of the day and one not to miss

Jason's season has been mixed with a few injuries and the recent birth of his baby, meaning he has missed a few events. Of those he has entered, he has always performed to the max and is an incredible athlete. David Lloyd should be very proud to have such a member, surely?
Andy Lett
vrs
Les Barrow
Andy, is the ultimate X Training package - whether holding a 28 minute plank, or inspiring and motivating members at Rochdale Fitness First, Andy Lett has always been the one person who has been there for the sport at his club and been responcible for its growth, by working close with Aidy Cartwright to ensure the benefits of X Training are brought to new and fresh talent. Well done Andy. Les, a PTI Royal Marine, introduction to the sport has been through Adrian "Chuck" Berry . Les battled fiercely at the Gorton Grueller and has discovered just what true X Training is all about. The future is very exiting for the Royal Marines in this sport as it's fair to say - these guys love a challenge and it's great to have them involved.
Sue Regan Watts
Trudi Hawksworth
Sue's performance throughout the many years she has been involved with the sport is inspiring to say the least. There is probably not a moment of the day where Sue is not thinking of how she can improve her performance - not only that, she is thinking about others improving too - Sue loves to see people do well and these two close friends will have a corking race. Trudi has all the attributes that means that as each event has taken place over the years, she has been at that event. Extremely likable and the reason that new discovery Sam Saunt has developed so well, Trudi will be the first to admit that she loves to take place in any of the events up and down the country and , this race will be an absolute must see race.
Sam Saunt
vrs
Nicky Humphrey
For somebody who did not like PE at school Sam Saunt has proved that you don't have to be sporty person at all to do well in this sport. Discovering that she had a natural ability and support form Kirk Gibbons and her aunt Trudi Hawksworth, Sams introduction to the sport at the Indoor Ironman was simply awesome. A great future for Sam in the sport of X Training and who knows, maybe another Michelle Parsons in the making. Watch this space for more incredible performances from Sam. Nicky has been the closest rival to Sam throughout this Intermediate season. Some really close races happen when they race, particualry in the early stages . Training out of Fitness First in Luton and with help of Mark Drury and Simon Bellinger, Nicky has fine Personal Trainers to motivate and train to improve on her times. With both of these girls eventually moving on up to the Open category , I think the future for close racing will be very rosy indeed.
Shannon Berry
Vrs
Adrian " Chuck" Berry
We believe this to be a first . The Intermediate races the Open.  But why? Well the clue is the names , Shannon is the son of Chuck and his first race was at Gorton. Chuck and Shannon will be the first family race (father and son) ever at Hampshire and goes on to show the versatility to which X Training can be adapted. Whatever the outcome though, the fun element continues with this sport as does the competitive element of winning and motivating yourself. Good luck to them both. Chuck has many skills that he brings to the table of X Training. He is an elite Royal Marine, a PTI ,a champion boxer, a formidable Judo competitor, and top all round guy. He has been involved in the sport for years and has competed regularly. He is responsible for the introduction of X Training to a few of his colleagues and in the process taking the sport to the next level by involving the elite Royal Marines , setting bench marks for the rest of the world Armed Services to match. ... if they dare!
Simon Cox
vrs
Danny watson
Simon resides in Span and such is his commitment to the sport that he flies over to the UK to compete ! Here's a thing? Why doesn't spain start to X Train? Do they have gyms? Does that gym have members? Could they possibly achieve the fitness levels that Simon has maintained over the years? Crazy questions I know, and almost impossible not comprehend why it isn't happening. In the meantime Simon continues to fly over and achieve phenomenal results in the veteran category.

Danny is a relative newcomer to the sport. His absence at recent events has been down entirely to his career. He is  PTI in the Army and has simply been unable to attend.

I know for a fact though, that he is committed to the sport and tries to encourage others to take part. At the upper levels we know this event is hard. But is it too hard for the rest of the Army to catch up on? Come to think of it, is it too hard at this level for any of the overseas Forces to take part in? Hey, tell you what, watch this space! The forces love a challenge. Ask the Royal Marines!
