As well as being Head Judge on the day, Tom Whitmore (brother to Will) completed the  Intermediate Course in a very respectable time of 15 mins 23 seconds. What were  your thoughts on BOB 2007?
I thought it was superb. Competitors have come out here after a long trip and all were happy. It was just a fantastic event.
You were in charge of the judging - how do you think that went and were the competitors happy about fair judging?
We ran a tight ship out there. A couple of dodgy reps were seen, but we were quick to spot them and get it sorted. We know where the areas are that need strict judging and where it's easy to try and gain advantage and we watched them like a hawk.

A whole back up team of judges from the IBN Battuta Fitness First First Club. How did they cope?
That was so important. Literally every single judge there was a senior fitness professional. They understand weights, they understand cv. They know what's going on basically. Sometimes in the UK Judging is criticised for not having professional guys judging and not really understanding what's going on - but not this time. And that's not for me to say, but by the reaction of the competitors and that's what they are saying to me now.
You acted well as the head judge. Keeping on top of the judging. How did you find that?
Consistency is the most important thing. Ultrafit for example being the most infamous, where you had one person on a single event who was an absolute Hitler and it made a mockery of it in the end, because if you were that persons lane you had a tougher event then if you were in a different lane
The run was 800m at 3% Incline

Would you like to see Judging standardised. A Course set up and a qualification gained from it?
Yeah, possibly. At this moment in time you just rely on people to volunteer and give up their time. If the sport grew and people thought there was some financial reward for becoming involved then yeah, I think it 's a good idea.

Another qualification for a Gym Instructor or Personal Trainer maybe ?
Absolutely, if it could be incorporated into something like the YMCA course or any Fitness Training course it could be very good for the sport.
Tom, you are the brother obviously of Will (the Organiser) your mother helped in organising and your brother went on to win the event in the Open. You could say it's been a very successful family trip on the whole?
Yeah, I guess you could say that. I enjoyed it immensely.
