Andy – how did the event go for you?

Fantastic, a bit overwhelming in all fairness. I had a great race – I was racing a guy called Sean (the interviewer)
Any guilt or remorse about beating him so convincingly?

No, not at all! (Laughing) We all have good days and we all have bad days, I’m sure there will be another time when the position is reversed – maybe soon for you. Hopefully not too soon for myself! To come out here and take third in the Intermediate and Lloyd taking first means it’s been a fantastic result for me at an excellent venue, with the people being very friendly and accommodating. I think a special mention to Ali (Ali Sayed) who really knows how to treat somebody in terms of hospitality. So in all please sign me up again if it happens next year. I will be here.

Lloyd is your Personal Trainer. How has he affected you and your training?

I signed to Fitness First in 2006 in a gym membership for three months, to a view that I wanted to get a little bit healthier and a little bit fitter – I guess it was as a result of that I got an induction to a" Get Fit Package" and spoke to Lloyd. At first I thought he had a cassette fitted, where he came bowling out of the canteen, saying “Right, you want to get results then?” I pretty much thought, "Yes I do".

So I guess , if it wasn’t for Lloyd then I don’t think I would be here today and improved on my fitness so much. It may have been a case of, I may have just weaned off the three month membership. But I have taken to it like a duck to water, it’s addictive and I love it.
