Few people in X Training adapt so quickly to the dedication and relentless hours it takes to prepare yourself for a full on X Training Challenge. People may often say, I will attempt it next time or - naaah thanks - it's not for me and that's fine, X Training is not for everybody - but when it hits you, nothing will stop preparing you for the next challenge - and the challenge after that - that's why people take part - that's why people achieve and that's why X Training keeps you motivated.
But individuals are what this sport is about - it takes a certain kind of person who can endure a bit of pain, push themselves - never give up - be prepared to push themselves that little bit further, that little bit harder and set goals that few would could only dream about and not be disheartened by the occasional set back - so it's WGC greatest pleasure to announce to it's members that X Trainer and now winner of the Fitness First "New You" Achievement award has been won by Amanda Dean a regular competitor of X Training events.
Amanda suffered horrendous injuries in December 2005 to her lower left leg in a car crash , the tibia was crushed and doctors feared she may never run again - but Amanda who is anything but a quitter took it on the chin and battled relentlessly back to full rehabilitation, with the help of close friend and Personal Trainer Aidy Cartwright.
Amanda beat a short list of over 1200 members and was invited to dinner at a top Hotel in London, attended by Dr Hilary Jones, Nick Smith (Fitness First Director) Jenni Wilson (BUPA) and John Gamble (Managing Director of Fitness First) and many others within the fitness industry to receive her award and win First Prize of a £2000 holiday.
Amanda has been on the X Training scene for obviously a short time - but what it took to get Amanda interested in X Training was seeing the passion and commitment by those that train at her gym in this very challenging sport.
Those that inspire others are those that motivate them too and Rochdale Fitness First has two of the finest ambassadors of the emerging sport of X Training in Aidy Cartwright and Andy Lett - it is no fluke Amanda won this award - it is almost a team effort by those who have supported and motivated her and WGC.com takes this opportunity again to say well done to Amanda and all at Rochdale for achieving in so many ways and proving that anything is possible when you want it hard enough.
