The Cross Training Slump
Will Whitmore. Winner Best of the Best 2006
International events. Steve Oxlade in Dubai.

I’d rather be at home sipping some tea,

Except I’m on this treadmill at 5 % in lane B,

I’ve just done the bike, row, sit ups and bench jumps,

And all I’ve got to look forward to is the cross training slump.

The Intermediate. A challenging course for anybody.
Want to motivate yourself? Train with events in mind. Any level, Beginner, Intermedaite or Advanced.

That’s when I finish this race and fall to the floor,

When my heart rate is shot and can’t take no more,

But before I can do that and earn my rest,

A couple more metres - I’m doing my best.

Row. Do you use one? Try X Training.
Frances Walton - Organiser of the Gorton Grueller.

The lactic is here and I’m in incredible pain,

My muscles so ache, as I feel the strain,

Please God, give me strength, just a bit more,

Then I can finish this race and fall to the floor.

Don’t ask me why, I don’t really care,

I’m lying here flat out, fighting for air,

I fell to the ground with an almighty bump,

to witness lane A ……
