Russell is climbing up the Intermediate ranking list consistently throughout this year. It will not be long before he moves on up to the Open - but anybody who can hold a 22 minute plank and complete 600 bench jumps and has Gary and Becky Ciel as a Personal Trainer will definitely be someone to watch out for.

On X-Training...

How long have you been X-Training?
At competition level (two years)

Why do you find X-Training so exciting?
I like the all round fitness level that you get from it. And it covers all the disciplines you get in you in good shape.

Who has been your biggest influence in X-Training?
Gary and Becky. I train at Calso

How often do you train?


3 times a week definitely. Bit as a habit it is more like five. Occasionally when I get a bit obsessive with it , seven!

What is your favourite exercise?
I am quite good at sit ups and not too bad on bench jumps.

What is your favourite food for training?
Pasta and Porridge in the morning.

What is your ambition in X-Training?
Move on up to the Open and do well and improve my strength

What exercise secret would you give a newcomer to X-Training?
Be disciplined when you train. Don't cut corners.Make the reps count. You will have to do it properly on the day.

 



On Sport...
Did you excel at sport at school and if yes, what sport?
I was good at sport at school. Mainly in the first teams for football and rugby. Above average

Do you compete in any other sport?
No

Have you competed in any other sport in the past?
Rugby Football and Tennis

How often do you rest?
When I want to - but I mainly train when I can

Do you suffer many injuries?
So far I have been lucky

Have you ever parachuted (sky dived tandem or solo) out of a plane. Would you?
I Fancy the idea - but No!

What is the one sport you have never taken part in but would have loved to have excelled in?
Formula One racing.

They are going to have deal with it. Eat less and exercise more I guess

More exercise and less bad food!

No - but it would be interesting.
