Dragons Gauntlet 2007

The race Line up for Dragons Gauntlet has just been announced. There are some fantastic races lined up on the day - not least the final race between two of the finest in the sport today - Will Whitmore and Sam Orgee.

The super fit Kirk Gibbons - had a cracking result at Fitness Extreme and by racing Steve Regan Watts for the last but one race of the day ensures the tension will remain throughout. The final result could be a very close run affair in the men's event.

Amber AndersonIn the Ladies events ,the ever so charming Amber Anderson continues her quest for the love of the sport and is helped in training from the likes of Jason King, Nik Kandola,Mikki Skingsley  Mikki Skingsly from David Lloyd in Essex and Gary Nicholas and Calso from Kent. Nelson Anderson her husband - continues to support Amber and the David Lloyd centre that they all belong to should acknowledge the tremendous effort that theses athletes perform at.

Rebecca Roberts is also improving due to the very capable training she receives from partner Steve Dowse. Steve is an excellent Personal Trainer and anybody who lives in the Berkshire area would be well advised to contact him for additional training.

Nicky Humphrey and Sam Saunt, race yet again , which will be  a very close affair and the Ladies Open - with, Kirsty, Sarah , Trudie all chasing the current reigning Women's champion in the Grand Prix Becky Ciel.

The day will be a resounding success and be a true reflection of the growth of X Training.

There is a space for the gym that you are representing. At the end of the day, I would like to be able to contact each of the gyms and say well done to their athletes who are representing this very demanding sport. No matter what level you are competing at, you are contributing towards the growth aspect by participation and gyms should be aware of this.

Please contact info@worldgymchallenge.com and inform me of the gym you are representing and I will add this to the table.Gary Nicholas

The tables that get printed after the event, showing a complete breakdown of individual splits are only representative of those that belong to WGC, this is due to the data protection act. If you know of anybody who is not registered, please ask them to do so - It is free to register and very easy. .

There are 117 entries for this years event. That is almost double to the numbers in 2004.Rebecca Roberts And it would have easily been , if the were more hours in the day and it were physically capable of fitting more people in. This is truly and expanding and growing sport and all who take part are part of this amazing ride to get the sport recognised. It must surely be a matter of time before X Training, either as a variation in ones training , or as a mass participation sport is recognised for the benefits it can make to somebody's training. . WGC is focused on the latter, but realises that it will be only accomplished by the former ( the athletes who do this sport) telling friends and family about it.

I know from personal experience how much this race takes to prepare in terms training - what I don't know is the time that takes to organise this event. That is down to Sue and Steve Regan Watts, who have remained committed to see the growth of X Training through their love for the sport. WGC - takes this opportunity to thank them both on behalf of all our members.

Sue and Steve Regan Watts

Good luck to all who are taking part
