On X-Training..

How long have you been X-Training?

8 Months

Why do you find X-Training so exciting?

Cross training is so varied and requires all round development of
strength, speed, cardio, stamina. Its changed my training completely and
given me goals to aim for.

 

Do you teach X-Training to your clients?

No

Why do you like X Training

I love testing myself against some very fit competition, across multi
disciplines. I think it is great how anyone can give it a go and the friendliness and support you get from fellow competitors when starting
out.

Who has been your biggest influence in X-Training?

Nik Kandola - he got me into the training in the first place. I owe it
all to him.

How often do you train?

Several times a day except Saturdays (that's my one day a week off!)

What is your favorite exercise?

On the weights I love doing preacher curls. From a cross training
perspective I like bench jumps.

What is your favorite food for training?

Tuna in spring water with plain boiled rice.

What is your ambition in X-Training?

To continue developing and improving, but most importantly to enjoy the
training and the competition

What exercise secret would you give a newcomer to X-Training?

Keep everything strict in training. Don't take any short cuts as you
will get penalised and suffer in competitions. Keep good strict form.

 

On Sport. ..

Did you excel at sport at school and if yes, what sport?

Not really, loved all sport but was never a top performer.  

Do you compete in any other sport?

Karate

Have you completed in any other sport in the past?

Bodybuilding, Karate, Cycling, Running, Judo

How often do you rest?

One day a week (Saturday).

Do you suffer many injuries?

As I get older I definitely seem to pick up more injuries and they are
taking longer to shift!

If you could meet anyone in sport, past or present, who would it be?

What is the one sport you have never taken part in but would have loved
to have excelled in?

Decathlon

Yes, done two parachute jumps and a bungee jump. Loved them all.

Yes, 42" Plasma!

Anything and everything. Darts, snooker, football, rugby, golf,
athletics, boxing, wrestling, et c.etc.etc. 

 

On Health. ..

Do you think the obesity problem in schools and the US can be
controlled?

Yes, with good education within the schools teaching children from a
young age how to eat properly and how to live an enjoyable active
lifestyle.

What's the one golden rule in weight management?


Keep the fat to close to zero. Don't count calories, count the fat!  

Do you know your resting and maximum heart rate?


Yes, resting just under 50, max 186  

Do you train with an HR monitor?
Yes, new Suunto I won at the UKXTA (replaced my old Polar)
