    Interview with Cassius Frankson

WGC:What was your most memorable moment of this years final?

Cassius: Winning the UKXTA comp!

WGC: It's a very testing course. Especially as you had to compete in it four times. What was your toughest race and why?

Cassius: All were tough but the final was the hardest because I had to come from behind.

WGC: How did you rate the opposition this year?

Cassius:They were very strong and fit and it was good to see some new guys coming throughCassius on the row

WGC: How did you rate the judging?

Cassius: Quite fair but a bit inconsistent, which is understandable. I think we should judge our selves by not trying to cheat and doing the correct movement.

WGC:It was a first in competitive history to have the heart rate monitors and display on view to both competitor and spectator by Suunto's team pod. Did you look to the readings of hr monitors?

Cassius:Yes and I was always in the red. (Anaerobic)

WGC  :Did you use the suunto t6 after?

Cassius: Yes and I still do. It's a great piece of kit.

WGC:How did you rate it against other hr monitors ?

Cassius :Very good, all my others are now up for sale on ebay!

WGC: Would you like to see a weekend event- heats with potentially hundreds of competitors on Saturday and the final on Sunday?Cassius Frankson

Cassius: Yes.

WGC: How do you think we could make it a more sociable and audience friendly occasion?

Cassius:I will have to say we need some big sponsors to get involved and help make the sport more public

WGC: Do you think the music fitted the racing?

Cassius: Can’t honestly remember it I was too focused.

WGC: The comparing was hosted by Stuart Leng again. Is he as much as the finals as the finals?

Cassius: We love Stuart !

WGC: The timings were fast this year. Two days after the event, how did you feel?

Cassius:I was tired but still on a high from winning

WGC: That must be a great feeling - it's such a tough course. Can you describe the feeling of racing past the finish line, knowing that you have won?

Cassius :Before we started the race I knew I had a chance but. Then as the race progressed I knew my training had worked as I started to come back.

WGC: Cassius, you won by 1 sec. In one of the closest races ever seen. Do you feel sorry for Nik?

Cassius: No not really because if I were to feel sorry for him I might as well give him the title but I am glad he was runner up.

WGC: Do you think technology could help judging or interfere?

Cassius: It could help but it depends on what it is.

WGC: How do you think judging could be improved?

Cassius : More clarity on what is a good rep and louder counting

WGC: Would judges be better if they were paid and qualified?Time for thought

Cassius: Not really, but it might help.

WGC:Do you think that athletes from the past will ever be tempted back?

Cassius: I hope so

WGC: X Training is a sport where the age is relevant. Although there are young tri athlete stages, what age do you think training for X Training seriously, should commence?

Cassius: At school level light weights and the same CV

WGC: Thanks Cassius, on a final note, If you could say to those that left the sport, or who are new to the sport in one sentence- why X Training has a future – what would it be.

"X training is the only way to test your body using Strength, speed and endurance in one race and the Olympics beckons"
