X Trainer of the Year Award 2008

The X Trainer Of The Year Award is presented each year to the gymathlete that has contributed most to the sport of X Training.

This doesn't mean the person who has won the most titles or organises the most events. It is purely and simply a vote by the people who do the sport for the person they recognise that throughout the year has contributed towards the enhancement of X Training

Last year was won by Andy Lett and judging by the round of applause at The Hampshire thoroughly deserved. Andy is a great ambassador for the sport and it was a privilege handing over the award to him. Ask anybody at Fitness First Rochdale just how dedicated and motivated Andy is in training and you will see somebody who inspires. To me that is brilliance and a well deserved winner.

Nominations this year are required, so far a short list has been drawn up of three

Gary Nicholas

For his incredible Marathon attempt this year of 2600 step ups whilst carrying 2x 10 kg d/b all the way round and not being able to put them down.

Gary Nicholas

Stuart Leng

Organiser of the Indoor Ironman. Stuart has been with the sport since the early days - so much so that when Sky were commenting on X Training they asked Stuart to add professional input. Stuart himself has commentated on so many events that he is regarded as the voice of X Training.

Hywel Davies

Hywel has simply dominated X Training for so long he feels there is no point in competing along the lines of Alexander the Great

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."

Could it be possibly that the master of X Training could at all be beaten? Who knows and it's a great shame that the sport of X Training has lacked sponsorship for so long, it is unlikely we will ever find out.

Hywel Davies

Good luck to all those that are nominated.

This list is to be added to and nominations would be gratefully accepted and considered from the X Training community.

If you would like to nominate a X Trainer for X Trainer Of The Year please contact info@worldgymchallenge.com

A online vote will take place during the last month of the season (November) and awarded again at the last event - The X mas Cracker.

This page will get longer as each member is nominated......
