Introduction By WGC

Mike Jones receives his nomination for being one of the Personal Trainers from Manchester who has taken to X Training and created a real buzz for it at Gorton Fitness First. He runs classes and competes literally in every event. Another relative newcomer to the scene Mike has made huge improvements in his performances at events. He takes inspiration from those he sees compete at both Premier level and Club Level.

Mike was at Gymxtc ™ this year when he raced local Tory Parliamentary candidate Ray Christi, yet again giving the sport another chance for publicity and then went on to take part in the event, followed by the Run BIke Row special challenge.

Quite a tiring feat all that? But that is what drives X Trainers to compete - the thrill of the race and after?A nice drive back to Manchester from Kent - that is dedication and that is one of the reasons Mike gets his nomination.

I have been inspired by the likes of Mikey White, who was a PT  at Gorton where I work, and the great Hywel Davies.

What do you do as a Personal Trainer to promote X Training
I have constantly put challenges for new beginners and encouraged them to take up the sport.  I am always willing to help the sport grow, and take part in every competition.
