Introduction By WGC

Steve and Sue are simply one of the finest examples of how to be a good Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor and Inspiration to others as there can be. I am pleased to have them on this site as they set standards to which other Personal Trainers or Gym Instructors should try and achieve.

World Gym Challenge.com takes great pride in it's members achievements and in cases like this is an absolute pleasure to be associated with two of the finest X Trainers in the UK  right now.

Steve - Your views on Best of the Best ?
Tremendous event from beginning to end. The atmosphere and the competing element of it meant I thoroughly enjoyed the day and look forward to another next year.

What was your toughest discipline and how did you find the course?

Obviously I compete in the Open (the harder course) at Masters level (39 years and over)The whole event was very tough, but also very well judged and very fairly judged as well. I think the shoulder press was particularly difficult but that was across the board - not just me saying it - it's always a hard discipline that.

 1.5 km on the bike
What did you think watching the Intermediate category?
I really enjoyed watching the Intermediates. It was a high standard with some good X Trainers making their way up to the Open level in the near future.

....... And of course , Sean excelled didn't he ? (the interviewer)

..... Well of course Sean excelled! (laughing)
 Well done Steve

Sue - What did you think of best of the Best 2007 ?
I thought it was great. The best event ever. Well worth coming down to, here in Dubai. The organisation was fantastic - the atmosphere was fantastic - the people and the judging were spot on.
 Shoulder Press (40  x 18.5 kg)
How did you rate the venue ?
Simply amazing. I don't think there has ever been a better venue. It was amazing completing the course in front of shoppers and people just wandering around a Shopping Mall, which gave it a great atmosphere. Performing on a stage meant my nerves really kicked into another gear. But the opportunity to perform like this comes once in a life time and Fitness First have set the standard to which other gyms have got to try and match, both in terms of something for their members and supporting this event.
So, would this be fair to say then. This is the first X Training you have ever taken part in, that was set in a luxurious Shopping Mall , surrounded by Oriental features and set upon a stage which had jets of water spurting up and shoppers looking on and supporting the athletes ?
Er , yes ! (laughing)
 Latt Pull downs (50 x 27 kg)
You won your event in the Masters . How did you find the course?
It was for me the toughest course I have entered. I was pleased to win, all the training that I do means that I have achieved something that I am very proud of.
Well done Sue, Excellent performance and well done in winning your race.
A quiet, well earned relaxing poolside drink !
