A united gym and a fantastic bonding experience for all the family ....

Preparation for this event as organisers started months prior to the day. This year we wanted to make the Dale Destroyer the best event that we could possibly put on. We were very proud to here that the event would be in the Grand Prix this year and wanted to make it a great spectacle.
With entries exceeding 70 and athletes coming from a far a field as Spain and Northern Ireland made the event extra special. With Stuart Leng on board taking charge of commentary and overseeing the smooth running, things were sure to go well.
I found that the greatest help on the day was our chief marshal Stuart Gilbert. Stuart was last year’s winner in this competition and was unfortunate to pick up an injury in training. Knowing he couldn’t take part Stuart wanted the responsibility of overseeing all marshals and making sure fair but firm was upheld by all.
With the Mayor of Rochdale and the local press in attendance Fitness First Rochdale illustrated again what great events they are able to hold. Also, of equal importance, raising money for charity and creating an atmosphere in club which enables ALL gym users no matter what ability, to be able to train for and compete in such events as the Dale Destroyer.
The community spirit generated by X-Training events makes it a pleasure to go to the gym and gives the members something to motivate and push them giving members a focus in their training and ultimately, a healthier lifestyle.

I would like on Fitness Firsts behalf, like to thank all competitors for taking part in the Dale Destroyer and showing us what great athletes we have in this sport. Finally we would like to personally thank Sean Blyth who without his great enthusiasm and dedication to X-Training would not have the Dale Destroyer and Fitness First members a platform to how we can move forward in this sport.
