The Chief Judges rules for the Gorton Grueller

 

Former winner of the Grueller Kirsty Wright will be acting as Chief Judge to the Gorton Grueller on Saturday. Her experience in X Training is a welcome addition to the strict and disciplined approach to the judging this year.

There will be a instruction period at the Grueller for what is expected and each competitor must attend these as a matter of a health and safety brief.


STEP UPS:

 Step onto box.

Both feet to be flat on top of box; no heel / toe tapping.

Heels to clear edge of tape any used as a marker.

Body to be straight on upwards phase; no leaning over / forward at top.


 UPRIGHT ROW:

No swinging.

If sponge is being used on bar this is to touch the chin.

On downwards phase elbows to be locked out, so full range of movement used


BENCH PRESS

Full lock out when pressing weight.

Feet on floor.

No over-arching the back to bench.

Weight and bar must come down to chest and touch.


SIT UPS

Both hands in contact with head at all times.

Sitting up, elbows to touch knee or just under.

Downwards, whole back to touch floor


BOX JUMPS

Feet to clear centre of box and to be on floor at same time.


SHOULDER PRESS

Full lock out at top of movement.

On downwards phase bar to come below the chin.

Not everyone can get their back up against the bench so there will be a small gap allowed.


ROWER

Feet in place and row!


BIKE

Enter level and peddle.

No spinning.


RUN:

Set incline using arrows.

Enter speed using arrow keys and NOT the number key pad.

NO HOLDING THE BARS ON TREADMILL.

You will be told once then penalties will be given to total time!

When entering incline & / or speed, use a single finger on the appropriate arrow.

No gripping any part of the treadmill for support (Unless for safety reasons)

Alternatively instruct the timekeeper to operate the keys.


No tolerance of any verbal abuse will be accepted towards judges, time keepers or organisers. Judges on the day are volunteers and are giving up their time freely as to accomadate the the Gorton Grueller 2009 and your appreciation is very much neeeded in your support for the judge, time keeper and orgnanisers.
